Adoption Fundraiser

Bill has opened his Etsy Shop again.  He has added some new things that he's made and plans to keep adding to it.  We hope that selling the items will help offset some of the adoption cost.  So take a look and be sure to keep checking to see when new items are added.  Here is a picture of one of the items.  A doll apron.  (doll not included)

Tiff had a great time at Homecoming and she looked so pretty.  I can't believe how fast she is growing up. 

Another Miracle Coming Home!

Please pray for our dear friends Kim & Stacy.  They are on their way to China to bring home their new son. Isaac who is turning 14 on October 30th.  They worked as hard and fast as they could to make sure he is home before his birthday.  Praise God he will be!

Successful Yard Sale!

Our community held it's bi-annual yard sale this weekend.  We thought we should do it to try to raise money for the adoptions.  We had several friends donate items to the sale.  We are so appreciative because we sold most of what they donated. :-)

We were afraid of the weather.  Just as the sale officially started, it rained. Yep. Of course. So we hurried and brought things in the garage.  Then the rain stopped.  And it was a beautiful evening. 

Same thing happened on Saturday.  But thankfully the rain brought cooler temps for a while.  It did not rain long and TONS of people came out to the sale.

Abby & Jadyn did great.  Over the 2 days, they collected $56 selling sodas & water.  A few people just donated money.  We had a sign on their table explaining why they were selling the drinks. We had 1 lady ask us if this was true.  We said 'yes" and she said "I'm adopted too. But from Korea". She gave them $14 for 2 waters & 1 can of root beer.  So sweet!

We got rid of a lot of stuff. Stuff that was just going to go to Good Will.  And we made $466.  Not bad.  So our total came to $522.  We are thrilled. 

Thanks to our friends who donated items to our sale, and to our friends who came out to the sale. 

We're thinking about doing the sale again in April. We have a couch & some end tables to sell.  So if you'd like to donate to the April sale, start saving your things now.  :-)

Peter is Waiting for His Forever Family

We received this email yesterday from our dear friend.  They asked that we pass it along in hopes that we can find Peter his forever family.  Please feel free to pass this info along.  He's been waiting way too long to meet his Forever Family.  Please contact Becca Bolt (her info is below).  She has access to Peter's file. Thanks!

Ever since we left China, my buddy Peter's words have been running through my head, "You're going to find me a family, aren't you?"

So I started by checking his paperwork, and adoption status.  He is not matched, and his paperwork is ready.  Actually, he's been waiting for 10 years for a family because someone diagnosed him with Mental Retardation, but when you check the paperwork it shows he's fine.  We also know this from being with him!  The adoption rep who found his file mentioned that when a child is diagnosed with Mental Retardation it is basically a dead file.  No one wants that child.  So Peter has been waiting...and no one has known his real diagnosis.  I know God's timing is perfect though...and I know there is a family for Peter.  The gal I worked with is trying to update his file now...
 

 I think it would be good to work through lifeline adoption agency because they are the ones that found his file.
